New Showroom, Kilburn

This latest phase of works for Robert Thompson’s Craftsmen Ltd provides a new showroom space to display their famous ‘Mouseman’ furniture. Whilst the other showrooms on site hold new crafted pieces, this area displays items which customers have sold back to the firm, have undergone full refurbishment and are ready for re-sale.

The building was originally constructed during an earlier phase of work in the early 2000’s as a workshop garage with loading bay, but was latterly being used as a holding area for furniture stock. The building has now been sub-divided by an acoustic partition to provide a packing area to the rear with showroom space to the front. A bronze framed screen has been installed to the entrance with oak weatherboarding above to give a traditional appearance to the frontage, in-keeping with the character of nearby buildings. Removable ‘floating’ shelves have been installed to either side of the room to carry smaller display pieces. New ceiling lighting for displays have been fitted, along with bronze wall light fittings and external bollards to complement the scheme.
